I wouldn't be too quick to call it his final blunder; the jerk still has a little more than 3 months left in office. Never underestimate the king's stupidity.

I think the Bush regime think of diplomacy in much the same way as evolution, they doubt its existence or usefulness. It won't have taken much to cool them on idea and McCain and AIPAC will have been very vocal. But much like the 2003 snub it will not be part of the popular narrative and Iran will continue to be portrayed as the unreasonable aggressor. Utterly surreal.
well he withheld arms shipment to Israel; so he had to give something back to AIPAC in exchange!
