Imagine if AMeirca did this when Bush cheated

Actually there were protests but nobody saw them because the corporations that own TV networks supported him. Bush had to sneek into the White House by the back door because he was afraid. That was something that had little coverage.

The big difference on the street between Iran at the moment and on the street in America when the election was "stolen" by Bush is that Americans for the most part were well fed, had jobs, freedom of speech, could travel or move elsewhere in the world and most importantly - America is not overlooked by a theocratic leader. The separation of church and state - you can chose which god you want to believe if you want to believe in god at all - makes a world of difference. Hitlers Germany was in love with the concept of superior master race who happened to be themselves - Germans/Aryans. I suppose American patriotism/capitalism has elements of that narcissistic element if allowed to run free without checks and balances. The latest recession has knocked a whole whack of self serving individuals from their special elite lives.

Imagine the author of this blog being a staunch Ahmadinejad's acolyte on the "world stage" then conspicuously branding the blog as "Stop the Second Holocaust" -- how frigging oxymoron.

You make me sick.

How far this will go, depends on the working class in Iran. They can make it, so that the mullahs, can't turn on a light.

Hi Naj
this is the double standard:

when Israel fights back against the masked men of Hamas and their suiciders, the whole world protests Israel.

But when Iran uses violent means to to suppress peaceful protests, there is not one protest any where in the world.

There are so many differences between the 2000 US election and the situation in Iran today.

Bush never claimed victory until after his opponent, Gore, offered his concession. Later, when Gore withdrew his concession, which was unprecedented, Bush gave him a sour look but made clear that he (Bush) would wait until the final decision by the courts before claiming victory. And Bush did wait.

Also, the legal authorities waited, they did not declare a victory for either side until after enough time had passed to review everything.

After repeated recounts over many weeks showed Bush was still in the lead, the US Supreme Court halted the endless recounts because our Constitution requires a decision by a certain date. Neither Bush, nor Gore, nor anyone active today wrote that part of the Constitution, that part was written long ago.

Finally, a number of independant organizations (newspapers, universities, etc) conducted studies to see what would have happened if there was time to conduct a fair and complete recount. They found that, under all reasonable methods of counting, Bush would still have won!.

This is in contrast to I'm-a-dinner-jacket, who didn't have the grace to wait for a concession. And, it is in contrast with the Iranian government, which wasn't willing to wait and allow time for a calm, reasonable, legal review.

I would like to imagine it. No. I would like to see it. Get the big corps out of the media and the media get back to the art of journalism and their duty and we may well actually see the protests...

HOOCHI MAMA,
"when Israel fights back against the masked men of Hamas and their suiciders, the whole world protests Israel."

You must not be paying attention. The whole world protests Israel? Not the US. You know the number one arms dealer of Israel's despicable genocide of the Palestians?
