One way to tell for certain if something is torture - or at the very least inhumane...try it out for yourself.
Better yet, see how you react if it's used on a loved one.
I have heard many a voice state that our new, improved forms of [torture from the dark ages] interrogation aren't bad at al. Its not torture. Its not inhumane, its all for the betterment of society. Its for our own good you see.
Until, of course, the forced nudity + sex acts and waterboarding is used on their sister.
